Jesus gave us a model prayer also known as the Lord’s prayer.

“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]
Matthew 6:9-13

That doesn't mean that He wants us to just recite that prayer though. That's just a model for us. There's an acronym called A.C.T.S. that can help you get started.

Awesome: thell God how awesome He is
Confess: confess your sins to God
Thanksgiving: thank the Lord for your many blessings
Supplication: humbly ask God for what you need and for the needs of others

These are good methods of prayer but Christianity is a personal relationship with God. Tell God what's on your heart, praise Him for His goodness, confess your sins daily and ask God for your's and other's needs. Trust in Him. He might not give us everything we ask for but He gives us what we need. We have to trust in His decisions. We might think that we need something but God knows what we really need. Confession of sin simply means that we agree with God that what we did was sinful. We don't try to hide our sins. This is what the Bible says about confessing our sins:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

This doesn't mean that we have to write down all of our sins and remember every little sin. We confess the ones we remember and ask for forgiveness for all our sins. We are forgetful human beings and God understands that about us. We just do the best we can. Jesus paid the penalty for all of our sins so we are already forgiven. We confess our sins so we maintain a healthy relationship with God. We try not to sin but when we do, we confess our sins. It's like saying, Lord, I know that I shouldn't have looked at those pictures on the internet. I know that was sinful. Please forgive me and help me to get better.

Prayer is the way we communicate with God and the Bible is one of the ways that God communicates with us. It's similar to having a relationship with your wife. You wouldn't just walk around the house ignoring your wife. You would talk about everything with her. It's the same with God.

Great answer from wraps!
Regarding our unknown sins, David sort-of models that in ps 149 as well
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

You guys got good answers, thank you!

I think he comes at each of us differently now. I think that He is making me understand Him in His own way, showing that He loves us very much to get down to our level and make known the "bridge" (Jesus Christ), you know what I mean?
As I understand God, I don't think I would have known Him truly, if I had not given my life to the Word.

yeah for sure! I dont think there's any wrong way to pray, as long as it's with reverence, pray however His spirit moves you! A lot of professing Christians use that "personal experience" as an excuse to create an idol of God that doesnt match His actual character (which is what i did for a looong time before i actually became saved). As long as we're praying to the God of the Bible, I think we're on track :)

The Bible says a lot on this subject: https://www.openbible.info/topics/how_to_pray
Many verses to answer some of your questions.
Some people pray on their knees with hands clasped, as an expression of reverence for God and perhaps as a symbol of being a humble beggar. If you feel moved to pray like this, do so. I happen to do most of my praying at night in bed, laying flat on my back with eyes closed (Matthew 6:6).
