Its not god that saved you...its yourself...he has no power over you. Do you honestly think you couldnt of done it by yourself? A voice in your head told you to stop so you did. I have heard voices when I was on drugs as well, thats what drugs do to you. I quit taking drugs because I wanted to. The only people that dont stop are people that truly dont want to quit. Addiction does not affect you after withdrawls....if you pick up and use after you have no more withdrawls and are clean...thats all you not the "addiction." People use addiction as an excuse why they cant stop...but truly its because they like it so much they dont want to.
The reason why they don't want to quit is because the drugs are designed so that you don't want to quit. They are designed so that you have bad after effects so you keep on going on the drugs.
I don't know the name of this drug but there is a drug that you take where the initial effect is that you feel really, really cool and high about yourself. You feel on top of the world. However when the drug wears off then you feel really crap about yourself. From here you have two choices:
1. You can try and play it through for 3 or so days so you have won your battle over the addiction.
2. You can take the drug again straight away to feel really cool about yourself.
From these two choices most people don't want to go through tough times so you can guess what option they choose. When they run out they just go and buy more.
Now what happens if you want to quit but you just can't quit because you don't want to battle it through as you are too sissy or it has truly indeed become an addiction? This drug CONTROLS your life and you don't want that now do you? Many people do need help, they can turn to the Lord your God to help them or they can call quitline. The choice is yours.
