I will respectfully disagree . The discussion is now 2 pages long and growing .

The inability of people to NOT comment on Biblical citations when they don't accept them can lead to a lively thread .

It wasn't so much a discussion as it was a pissing contest between Ained and Aetheric and it had nothing to do with the OP's post.

Well you can vote there to have it taken out of this forum all together :)  Then you'd never have to see another religious post again if you didn't want to.

I like this forum as it is, actually.

I'd like to get the record straight, I have been arguing politics and religion here for years now and I have no intention of dissuading religious topics, debates, etc. but it really is pointless to just drop a piece of scripture here for no reason.

As I said before, it is much more appropriate as a blog.

I see threads in here all the time that get my blood to boiling.  My fingers itch with wanting to say something I know I shouldn't.  I refrain and don't post because I don't want to offend anyone.  It's called respect.  And most of jsp needs a good dose of it!

There's lots of room for lots of posts from lots of people.  People are going to have to learn to overlook things sometimes and mind their own business.  But if this is such a problem with the way the thread is posted it will be modified tomorrow because I'll be the one posting the Word.  I'll take care of that.  So you'll have to come up with something else to say is wrong with it.

What topics make you angry, or more to the point why do they make you angry? Because you disagree with them?

The point of discourse is to clash with one another, so if the very act of being opposed to your views angers you then perhaps you shouldn't stop by. Personally, I like you coming here because you represent a tone and viewpoint largely unrepresented.

yes, this subforum has a relgious part to it
but at the end of the name is a big D, that is for discussion
if someone posts something without any intention of discussion, then it is rather trolling
(from the many threads the creator of this one made, i never saw a second post in the same thread [of those i looked at])
the poster of the OP should present something for discussion or post his quote in general chat

As much as I do not really care for this gentleman, he is correct.

I'd like this forum a lot better if people would be respectful of other's veiws and beliefs. Throughout this whole discussion I've not been nasty or name called, I've been heated and passionate about my feelings, but not hateful and mean. However, I've been called a nasty name and told I need to be educated and talked down to all because I believe in God and think that there should be a place here in this forum for His word since there is no other place on jsp for it. I respect others beliefs and opinions. I'm not going to tell someone they are wrong for what they believe or don't believe. This is not a thread to discuss that though. This is a thread that was supposed to be dedicated to the discussion of a beautiful Bible verse that Marcus took the time to post for us who want to be encouraged by God's word.

What is pointless to you is not pointless to another. All of these political threads, how are they productive, what purpose do they serve? None that I can see, but that doesn't mean that others, like you, come here for those threads. To debate the issues being posted and have your opinions heard. A good debate can be fun and interesting because you can learn something you didn't know before. I'm all for that. But most of jsp doesn't know how to debate without name calling and being hateful. There are threads you're able to do that in, this kind of thread is not one of them! A discussion doesn't always have to be a debate. Everything doesn't always have to be a battle. Sometimes it would be nice just to have a conversation with people who believe as I do.

I want a place on jsp I can show my love of our Lord and Savior. This forum is the ONLY place on jsp I can have conversations with other people who believe as I do. This forum opens up the opportunity to meet other Christians. I don't expect that to be important to everyone. But it is important to me and other people. So until we can find a place to show our love and sing our praises , this forum is all we have! It would be nice to do that and not be bashed everytime we turn around. So I'm sorry, I don't agree with you about the blogs. If people can openly discuss their political views, then Christians, Jews, Muslims and people of any other faith should be able to openly share their religious views. A large part of any faith is their Bible, it stands to reason we're going to want to talk about that.

Sorry this was so long. Thank you for saying you like me coming here, I appreciate that. Others should take a cue from you on how to conduct themselves.

one can only agree on what you said first, unfortunately there are many who do not know how to behave
(and even more unfortunately i have to add is that plenty of those claim to be christian)

like i expressed in #30 of the site suggestion by marcus: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=39557955&f=258&o=0
i have not seen any real discussion (or even conversation) in any of the 'encouraging words; threads
for my other comments you can look there

but no, general chat is a place any post can be posted so this subforum is not the only one
and general chat cannot be much worse than pard is at the moment

i hope that you find a way (the right way) to exchange scripture quotes - good luck
