Salvation has nothing to do with baptism.
Jesus Christ saves.
Torm1, I love you so don't take it the wrong way when I keep trying to convince you baptism has everything to do with salvation.
The Bible says it saves us.
Mark 16:16 "He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
1 Peter 3:21 "The like figure whereunto even
baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"
The Bible says Baptism is necessary
John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
Matt 3:13-15
(13) Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
(14) But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
(15) And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for
thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
The Bible says baptism is commanded.
Matt 28:19-20
(19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
(20) Teaching them to
observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Acts 10:48
And
he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
The Bible says baptism brings us into contact with the blood of Christ.
Col 2:11-13
(11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
(12)
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
(13) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
1 John 5:8
And there are three that bear witness in earth,
the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
The Bible says baptism places us “in Christ”
Gal 3:27
For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Col 3:2
3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
The evidence is overwhelming. That's why I am a member of the Church of Christ.
