Then look past them. I don't want to see a bunch of crap about politics that are pretty much talking about the same things over and over again. All negativity and bashing our government. Hateful talk about crap that you can do nothing about! But this is partly a political subforum so I just look past them and look for something that I want to read and be a part of discussing. The Bible is a HUGE part of Christianity, so obviously there are going to be discussions on scripture.



You don't confine your political views to one single thread. Why should I have to confine mine?

That's not realistic. The reason we have people who moderate the thread is to prevent people from acting uncivil; and when you create a new thread every day with merely a quote, it doesn't leave much room on the board for discussion pertaining to anything else; especially if many of the topics get bumped at one time. This will inevitably create dissatisfaction and cause more flaming.



There are many, many issues within politics, just as there are within religion. However, you don't see anyone creating threads with "political figure x's quote of the day" do you? It would just be regarded as spam.

Okay , let's cut to the chase .

Half of the name of PaRD is reserved for religious discussion and the overwhelming number of believers in God on PaRD identify themselves as Christian . We are under constant attack on PaRD yet I don't see any call to have " attacks on Christian " threads demoted to a single sticky .

The truth behind most of the objections in this thread have nothing to do with some ridiculous claim that they promote spam . 50% of what is posted in any thread could qualify as spam .

All I detect here is a desire to quiet the Christian participation on this forum .

I see threads in here all the time that get my blood to boiling. My fingers itch with wanting to say something I know I shouldn't. I refrain and don't post because I don't want to offend anyone. It's called respect. And most of jsp needs a good dose of it!

There's lots of room for lots of posts from lots of people. People are going to have to learn to overlook things sometimes and mind their own business. But if this is such a problem with the way the thread is posted it will be modified tomorrow because I'll be the one posting the Word. I'll take care of that. So you'll have to come up with something else to say is wrong with it.

Proposing a sticky =/= desire for quiet.

Surely you can't disagree with the statement that the OP largely and consistantly posts a thread every day in which he puts a quote up and leaves it to sit there. I hardly see how his posts contribute beyond the religious finding encouragement from them. If that's the case I don't see how a sticky proposal could been seen as anything less than win/win.
