Even if you were to ignore the horrible shit in the Old Testament, how can you deny how sadistic and abusive the Christian God is throughout? What kind of an unfair creator spawns two people in a garden, along with "The Tree of Knowledge", the most attractive and enticing tree there (it even has an enticing name), and then punishes them and all of their offspring for the duration of mankind's existence because they gave into temptation, a flaw the HE instilled in them? If you believe that story is true (which you must as a Christian), then how can you not admit that God is evil? That's like placing a big juicy steak in front of a dog, then beating the dog because it eats the steak. God knew they would eat from the tree, because he is omniscient.
I'm not speaking of rules and laws that are "irrelevant" now, I'm speaking of your god's character, which is truly evil. Just the idea that he condemns people to eternal suffering because they don't believe in him, a being who offers no proof of his existence (don't say the bible is proof because it's NOT), is evil.
God has to disciple people so people would who God is and how powerful he is.
God was saying, "you dare not defy me or punishment and judgement will come upon you".
If don't really see it as being sadistic when the people that were getting punished were either defying God or just completely disobeying him.
God is not destroying the people that serve him. That would be messed up. He is destroying those that defy, ignore, and worship other gods. Thats not sadistic.
God judges the heart, he knew more than the few words we hear of the people in the Bible.
If God is evil than what is Satan? super evil? lol wtf?
