the most reasonable interpretation is reincarnation.
Jesus said vehemently
Matthew 17
New International Version
11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. 12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.
"And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No." - John 1:21
Reincarnation is NOT a word of the Bible, youre a pagan.
"And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." - John 5:29
Resurrection is for life and the judgement of hell, NOT reincarnation.
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:6
We must be born-again of the Spirit of Christ to be saved from hell and to live with the Lord.
