daily Scripture being posted. He's not posting a blog or posting about the daily activities of a chicken. The passage above is about admitting your sins and forgiveness. In Catholicism, this basic idea is taken into practise as the act of confession; otherwise, in prayer, many Christians ask for forgiveness for their sins, even the ones they don't know they've committed. And in general, if someone has done something wrong, it's better to admit it and ease one's conscience a little.
"8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth." can also be taken broadly, as a prescription that we need to admit our faults and wrongful deeds if we want to have a clearer picture of ourselves and life.
