My reference is the constant pursuit of truth
i saw something about war or conflict in ur previous post.
Theres ways to find the topics in the bible fast.
Don't ask me how i know this, cause i'm a really big newbie at it.
love ur neighbor and war seems to conflict, but it don't
love does not exist when its 1 sided, no matter how hard one wants to believe
For your main thought...
Matthew 5:38-48 (King James Version)
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
As for finding "topics"
John 14:26 (King James Version) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 10:27 (King James Version) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Then I use references to grab what He gives/reminds and post it.
Those often include a plethora of, online Bible's, real life Bibles, Bible dictionaries, online searches, etc to reference what I get from Him so you could find it, if you wanted to look and verify.
To the heart of your seeking (pursuing truth)....
John 14:6-7 (King James Version)
6 Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way,
the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Truth is a person not an idea or concept.
People seek truth as a set of facts to comfort them. Ponder that a while, in light of what I said, within why you are pursuing truth.
Ask yourself "Why am I pursuing truth and could a set of equations and Scientific rules ever give me what I am looking for?"
If you can not be critical of you own thought process, you can never percieve any legitimate need to look beyond yourself.
If you never look beyond yourself, you will never see the need to repent and make Him your King.
You will never have to sacrifice yourself at pain continuously to prefer others, to help them. The kind of sacrifice that reunites others to each other while debasing your own relationship with them.
It is a road, that sounds like madness to one who does not know Him. It is a road that is infinitely more enlightening than transcendental meditation.
It is absolutely WAR! War over self and against everything that would set him/her/it/self against the unconditional/charitable love of God and His unmerited favor/grace.
You will be led to do things, that benefit people(they will say it benefited them) and not only will you get no credit but you will get insulted for it!
Galatians 2:20 (King James Version) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
We are so blessed to even live, somewhere we can discuss this and not be tortured to death in the streets!
Matthew 10:32-39 (King James Version)
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
What is sad, few ever get where our war is fought...
2 Corinthians 10:3 (King James Version) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
Matthew 11:12 (King James Version) And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Oh how warring was the statement, for those whom Jesus simply said "Follow Me."
