so your saying stories and messages in the bible are the only ones that ever occured and that none still occur today?
so messages cannot be sent from God to people anymore?

i'm reading a series of books right now that channels god in the first person called 'right use of will'. I was kind of skeptical but it is pretty good and makes some sense to me. Talks about how he is an evolving god and how hes changed some of his views since the bible. He used the line 'it is better to cast ur seed into the belly of a whore then to spill it on the ground.' as an example. saying how he said that in a time when he was worried about the human race dying off and now it has almost gone to the other extreme. He also says how he use to have anger because he had confusion and denials about his creation because he didnt want to realize that all he can see are reflections of himself. Since he had this issues when he created us, that is why our spirits had lots of issues. As above so below.

Those are also known as megachurch prosperity preachers, or new-agers. Its the opposite of following Christ, because they are giving man the credit, and basically calling themselves God's saying they have the power of creation.

But to come to Christ, it takes dying to the self, and giving everything up to Him. Humbling yourself.

kind of presumptious... If you read the books you would see it doesnt give man credit for anything. Merely says that it is possible to channel god.. if you don't believe that then the bible and praying kind of becomes useless right? What credit are you even refering too?

Well to be honest, it just doesn't work like that.

I'm not trying to offend you, its more just the people who are pushing this stuff that are confused.

your saying for sure we can't channel god ? how does it work then? im not offended but to me it honestly seems that your just defending your ego by saying you know how it works and that 'new-agers' are confused. I thought the reason jesus came was because we are ALL confused. i bet you know a lot more about the bible then i do and you seem to have intent to help people. if you truely have no confusion and understand 100% exactly 'how it works' then thats great and i hope to be enlightened, but if not you are just defending and glorifying your ego.

Well, its just that its not about "Channelling" God.

He is a person, and we humans can't "use" Him for our own desires and whatnot. He is in control of us.

"Does the clay say to the potter, Why do you make me like this?"

When we pray, we have to pray for his will, and that He would make us walk in obedience according to his word and his will, not ours.

That whole thing about god being perfect and his word not changing before heaven and earth perish kind of contradicts this.

@frankthetank - Before I address your statements I would like to say that I am going by the word of God which never changes. My statements do not reflect me nor my ego, but based on the word of God.

Based on the word of truth, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change and never will, thank God.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

I'm not sure if "He" refers to God or the author of the book you are reading. If it's the former, then I'm afraid to tell you that God never says that in the bible. It is not even implied.

I am not sure what are you trying to learn about God, but read EM Bounds or Prison to Praise by Merlin R. Carothers and then you will truly find out about the power of God. If the Holy Spirit is with you, you WILL notice a difference when you read books whose true author is the Holy Spirit working through men such as EM Bounds and Carothers.
