I haven't taken a class on it (yet), but I have the Nag Hammadi Library, which is a collection of Gnostic texts, I have read a bunch on the "gnosis.org" website, and I have read a bunch of books on gnosticism, such as books by Elaine Pagels and other authors I cannot remember the names of. I am by no means an expert, though.

you'd rather believe books written by random authors on websites, over the bible? to each his own i guess...

The Nag Hammadi library consists of texts that were written by followers of Jesus, such as the Gospel of Thomas that is believed to be earlier than the Gospel of John, the Gospel of John being a refutation of the Gospel of Thomas. These Gnostic texts were texts that were not approved by the council of Nicea and not included in the contemporary bible. Just think of all those texts with ancient wisdom that are not in the bible! The books that were written by random authors are books that were written by foremost scholars of early Christianity and Gnosticism. The other stuff that is on websites was also written by people knowledgeable in Gnosticism.

Well when you dig further...

Keep an open mind this could be all a result of Luciferism, based upon the "prophet" Plato works.

I think it's called Luciferianism. I don't believe in Plato's philosophy, either, even though that is what the Gnostic notions of the Aeons and the Demiurge are from. ( I think I made a big boo boo with the grammar in that sentence.) I don't think that it could be me believing in Satanism, as I believe that the Demiurge, YHVH, is the same as Satan, an atler ego if you will, just as the Old Law and Sin are not separate. So in that sense I am the opposite of Luciferianism because I believe that the true God is not YHVH and YHVH is Satan and evil. The only time I would be into Luciferianism is if the true god really were YHVH and Satan was the opposer of YHVH, then I would side with Satan and oppose YHVH.

Pride in man is luciferianism. You worship man and the self (the beast) rather than God.

I am partially buddhist, and I plan on eradicating my 'self', so don't try to tell me that I 'worship man and the self'. Just because I don't have an imaginary friend (god) doesn't mean that I am selfish or that I worship the self.

By the way: I am still not completely sure that Satan is the same as YHVH, I got the idea from the Cathar gnostic sects, but I don't think I can scripturally justify the idea.

Cool. This is the Christian subforum, not the Buddhist subforum.

Yes, but I felt it was pertinent to reply with such a reply as he accused me of worshipping the self and man, which I feel is not a very nice thing to say when someone is expounding an alternative form of Christianity who is equally against the self and the devil as any other mainstream Christian would be.
