Sounds pretty straight forward to me.
Not straight forward at all:
John 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and
put it to his mouthJohn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had
received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost
The purpose of this drink was to prolong life and increase the torture and pain. It was a cheap, soured wine used by soldiers.
Verse 30 says when He received it........recieving and drinking are two different things. I may recieve a dress for a gift but doesnt mean I am going to wear it.
Lastly, whether you call it sour wine or vinegar, it was clearly not wine as we know it. Jesus said "I thirst". When he recieved or was given the wine/vinegar, the Bible does not say he drank it.
It just didnt happen.
