what is the point of praying if God already knows what we want/what we are going to pray for?

I don't think God really can predict the future to a full extent, but I think of Him more like a helper, an advisor. He wants us to be happy and make the right choices, and he's always there ready to help us through the choices.

If he knows the future, then why are we constantly tested on our decisions?

Just curious, don't know if it addresses this in the scriptures or not. If you could answer this for me, I'd appreciate it

He does not know the future. Each person has been gifted with a brain. A brain of your own in which you make your own decisions. Your always thrown obstacles throughout your life, easy or hard its a lesson learned. People would be absolutely useless if God created man knowing when you would do something at a specific time. God assists you by helping you make decisions in life. But in the end its all up to you to make the final decision which is why there's all types of personalities :-) I can go on for hours on this topic lol. But ill keep it short.

What I feel is God gives you the option to either take the path to success or failure. We have the final say so. If our lives were all predestined there would be no reason to be tested. Would he test us just to be sure his assumption was right? Or is he testing if his teachings are getting across to us?
