What do you mean if you sinned? Every single person that has lived and ever will live have all sinned. All except one.

exactly. Your question is mute some believe tatooing or changing you body from the way God created it is a sin. with that being said... your still going to heaven if you believe Jesus is your personal lord and savior. So if you do.. i wouldn't worry about it worry about sin's that impact the people around you in a deeper way than they may not like long earlobes.

I thought you could still goto heaven if you sinned

Isn't this considered Vanity

Vanity is a sin right?

Thats exactly what.. the only reason why people do it other than religiously or their own culture thing is VANITY and its totally a physical body thing (like I wanna look cool or something).

It IS a sin... whoever says otherwise is not a christian and he brings up all the excuses to make it not look a sin..

Please excuse the double post, but here is a clarification from Drakwen on the matter:

i cannot post in that forum atm because of warn% but if you would like to know or even post this in the question, i have heard many preachers use this in terms of piercings and tattoos etc...

i believe stretching your earlobes like that is considered a form of self mutilation which in Christianity is a sin yes.

1 Corinthians 6: 15, 19-20
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Very well said, thank you so much.

That is pretty vague... Brushing/cutting your hair is vanity. Trimming your nails is vanity. Wearing color contacts is vanity. Are all these sin as well? If not, where is the line drawn?

Question:

Why does it matter if it's a sin or not? If discussing whether it is or not takes away from time we could spend loving Jesus, sounds like we could be doing much better things eh?
God forgives us if we sin, and petty possible sins like the above are not the ones we should be worried about. Selfishness, hate, and pride are much more detrimental to people in one's surroundings and ourselves than simply stretching one's earlobes.

That being said, I say go crazy and stretch your earlobes, so long as you keep on lovin' Jesus.

I personally don't think so, because when you die an go to heavan,
God isn't going to ask why did you stretch your earlobes, or what kind of car did you drive, or what you wore 30 years ago
He is going to ask what kind of person are you? Did you do the right things for the right reasons?

Etc.

this
no, its not a sin.
Of course God ask us to respect our body as the temple of God but a stretched ear wont offend him I am sure ;)

This guy wants to stretch his ear lobes.. is this a sin?

Isnt this a materialistic thing, like wanting to change his body which was given by God?

Isnt he just going against something that was created by God, by wanting to change it?

Or like isnt it a meat lust and/or very materialistic wish?

Well, in my personal opinion, if all body modifications was a sin, we're all living in it (overweight, underweight, healthy vs not healthy, etc) - it's too technical and picky. We're focusing too much on the externals of a person, not the internals where it ultimately matters. A guy with full sleeve tattoos is seen as living in sin by a lot of individuals, but I like to reference the "remove plank from your own eye before attempting to remove it from others" - so, let's focus on internals, not externals.

no its not a sin to stretch his ears or to mod your bod ,(remember the hebrews circumcised- bod mod) and the corinth 6; 15-19 hes talking to the church about the members who were sleeping with prostitutes and thinking it was ok he was saying that u become 1flesh when u have sex with a prositute u then have takin christ with u in the harlot...but he also talks about a good isue that u are the living temple of god and you are not your own, if he is a christian this ear stretch might be a good way to be a witness of christ and give his testimony, remember in the book of acts16:3 paul took timothy and circumcised him after the fact he was telling the jews that the true circumcis was of the hart ,y did he do this then? so the jews would listen to timothy and his testimony u see sometimes we can do some stuff that helps in ways we can reach out to others that whould not havegiven the time or day

If you go by the text of the bible it's a sin, but lots of silly things are sins according to the bible.
