The UK said that they will send a group of assassins to kill Putin if he gets picked to be president, guess what hes the president now.
If the US enter Israel and help them, Russia will start sending nuclear missiles, Iran will be involved aswell, Russia have sent this warning on national tv.

Russia have just bought and built missiles, tanks, subs, jets for 640 billion dollars
USA have moved around 5k tanks to a secret location (this was done after russia got mad at the US)

Yes; simply because of his supreme wisdom.  God gave us the power to choose how we want to live our lives, whether we choose to serve Him or not.  Unfortunately that opens up the possibility for evil to exist.  However, it is the only way we can truly appreciate good, and love each other.

So to answer the OP, God can do anything and everything to prevent a world war, but most likely He will not, simply because we are the ones responsible for whether or not we want to serve Him.
