Matthew 19:13-14 ESV / 17 helpful votes

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

No that is was the priest was telling me. I just dont understand the whole if your not baptized /if you dont except jesus as your savior you wont be let into heaven. what about the people that have never even heard of jesus. Will they go to hell, even if they lived an honest life

Those that have never, ever heard of Jesus. I heard that God will judge them by the light that they do shine.

Their life was already predetermined to die though

Everyone dies, including us. It's not a matter of whether we will, but when it will happen.

What's important is the second death.

remember how the bible talks about Father of son. and how it affects the son.

Ur family will not receive favor upon generations by going against God, in whatever fashion applies

2 Samuel 12 tells us a story of David's punishment (through Nathan) for David's adultery with Bathsheba.

In the latter part of the story, David intensely prays for God to spare the child but God does take the life of the child away because He is just.

After the child's death, David stops the intense prayers. The servants are puzzled and asks David why he is okay now/why he stopped praying so intensely

I want you to read and note what verse 23 says.

NIV - "22 He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23 But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

Now. According to David's logic, he should have been assured that he would be going to heaven (and I don't think anyone will argue against that). If that's the case, he assumed that the baby would be in heaven because David will be going to him. So to answer the question, does baby goes to heaven? I would think yes but I agree with everyone else that has said that it is up to God.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for all the replies!!

I have another question. I know your not supposed to talk about religion/politics at work but unfortunately my co-workers do all the time. The question came about the Jewish. In the old test. god said that the Jews were his chosen people. What does this mean? Are they given preference? when it comes to entering his kingdom. Do the jews automatically enter without need of accepting Jesus Christ as their savior?

No

There is no exception, you must have Jesus Christ in your life and have him in your heart to go to heaven, jsut because you're "Jewish" does not give them any right or any above rights then yourself. We are all equal here. And we are on the boat together.
