2 Samuel 12 tells us a story of David's punishment (through Nathan) for David's adultery with Bathsheba.
In the latter part of the story, David intensely prays for God to spare the child but God does take the life of the child away because He is just.
After the child's death, David stops the intense prayers. The servants are puzzled and asks David why he is okay now/why he stopped praying so intensely
I want you to read and note what verse 23 says.
NIV - "22 He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23 But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”
Now. According to David's logic, he should have been assured that he would be going to heaven (and I don't think anyone will argue against that). If that's the case, he assumed that the baby would be in heaven because David will be going to him. So to answer the question, does baby goes to heaven? I would think yes but I agree with everyone else that has said that it is up to God.
Hope that makes sense.
