Here's are some good verses on this topic

Ephesians 2:14-16

"For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. 15 He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. 16 Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death."

Ephesians 3:6

"And this is God's plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God's children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus."

This really doesn't apply to anything. Back in the 1st century there wasn't a church on every street corner. It was one church per city. As nice as it sounds to be a single unit like the 1st century church was, we are too separated right now for that to be possible. You yourself are part of a church that is separated from other denominations. Hopefully we can get back to a single-minded church someday. I would love that.

No you wouldn't, chances are it'd be one you don't agree with.
Hence the reason for so many denominations/religions.

Sure I would. Who wouldn't? I believe that my doctrine is true which is why I attend the church I do. But of course millions of other people believe their doctrine is true which is why they attend their own respective denomination. Would I love to see all of these churches combine with a like mind and sound doctrine? Absolutely. Do I find that to be possible? Not anytime soon. I can desire something and see the reality in the situation at the same time. ;)

lol

I take part in a church that has no demonination because I believe that denominations are useless.
Your either Christian or your not, there is not in between and there is no TYPE of christian.
Thats a really ignorant statement. Just because I'm part of a non-denominational church doesn't mean I support the separation of christian. Thats just stupid.

And yes these verse do apply. Thats like saying "WELL NULL OUT THE ENTIRE BIBLE BECAUSE IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE 1ST CENTURY HAR HAR"

Don't be like that dude, that's just ignorant.

I too attend a non-denominational church. But I am also not blind to the divisions that our churches have with each other. The non-denominational church is still DIVIDED from the other churches. Posting verses about unity doesn't apply because as a CHURCH we are not unified. The non-denominational church is a denomination as well. You did know that right? I hope your not that ignorant (since you like to throw that word around a lot). The non-denominational church just doesn't answer to a denominational hierarchy. That doesn't mean we aren't immune to this "denominational" title. The purpose of denominations was to separate from what we didn't believe to be true. That is why there are hundreds of denominations (non-denom.'s) included. Because of a difference of translation, denominations formed. My point to you was posting bible scriptures about unity doesn't apply, because we are NOT unified. Our church would not let a baptist minister preach because our doctrine is not the same as theirs. Would you call that unity?

Don't confuse my posts with "he doesn't want the church to be unified". That is so far from the truth. I would LOVE to see the church as a whole be unified and denominational barriers dropped. But I don't think preaching the feel good message of "we are all one body, it doesn't matter what church you attend" is the right way to go about it. I think the best way to break down the walls is to dive into the scripture and look at the make-up of the churches in the book of Acts. We need to mimic those churches (the original design) and turn away from some of the false messages that a lot of churches are teaching. Confronting false teachers is asked of us. But we have to back our claims with solid bible references. Until we are all of LIKE mind, we won't be unified. I think if Jesus came today and saw the divisions among his church he would cry.

So to anyone is looking for a church to attend, I challenge you to do your research on what that church believes, and see if it lines up with the bible. If you have tried and tested that churches message, join it! Enjoy worshiping the creator of all. :)

** Also be careful with your holier than thou attitude. Paul preached about being right and showing humility at the same time. ;) (1 Cointh. 8)

If belief in the bible and the bible only is a denomination than call me denominational lol
Catholic and all that jazz like to put something on top or take something away of the bible.

Believing in the God's Word is what you should do, all these denominational rules do nothing to people but scare them away from a relationship with Christ.
And I know I probobly seem prideful at times and I apologize. I'm a prideful fool when I start puffing myself up about things, sorry I'm trying to work on that.
