Glad to hear you had a good time. It's a good feeling to give but I would rather help my own people in my own country.

Haha, there is alot of other countries out there that need our help, think outside the box. The mission trip he did was awesome and well respected, who cares if it wasn't for what country we live in? We are not stubborn, we like to help any country that needs it. I see nothing wrong with helping another country instead of ours.

Yes it all sounds nice.. but there isn't a country that doesn't need help of its own. Why use their resources on other countries to help them when those countries will never help them back. It's not being stubborn. Just like you would save people you know in a tragic accident over people you don't. Each country needs to help itself.

You have a valid point, but in gods eyes it doesn't matter what country we helped/etc aslong as we are helping people so I don't really think it matters.

Making you say that we should help our own country sounds totally stubborn because it makes me feel like you are saying we are stuck up and just want to help ourselves. (Instead of taking that 2nd chance and crossing the mexican border, and going and helping a other race/family that has "NOTHING" and lives in 105degree weather everyday/etc.
Plus I wasn't in charged with my mission trip anyway, it was my pastor ;) But yeah I mean if we had like a storm or a bad tragic event that we needed to step up and support in usa I would definately help. But everyone I know in a 2000 mile radius where I live, are all wealthy and need no help, so going to mexico and helping a strand less family with 3kids and 2parents that have NOTHING, I would definitely choose this and go and help them for sure.

it makes sense. But until you've been to a thrid world country and seen what it's like and seen the people and their houses and the way they live, you can't really say they need our help in our own country more.

And going to a another country is also a sign and witness for hte people there, they say, "why would these wealthy american people come to my country to help us in all this mess of a town?" And it really helps them see what Jesus is all about
Rather than staying inside your comfort zone and inside your little box where everybody already knows who Jesus is and what not.

Exactly, when we were building the house/etc they took pics with us and literally they praised us/etc so much It was kinda nervewrecking but awesome at the same time because when we Left, we know we put in a good name from USA And we showed them our country does have respect/etc.
