First off, Lie To Me is a good show.
Second, from the past 2 posts you have written, really questions and throws up a red flag about your parents and place of religion. (I'm guessing Baptist or Lutheran)
Third, RE: Booger's comment about a screen door. A screen door isn't going to stop or slow down harm coming your way from the other side of that screen. So, I'll just throw that comment to the side.
Fourth, Of course you did the right thing by helping a stranger. You can feel comfortable patting yourself on the back for that. I just find it questionable about your reasoning for posting a simple deed. There should be a DNA code, or law in the constitution about helping others. Whether it's for Karma, self satisfaction or religion, it needs to be done or the world wouldn't turn.
Fifth, you should have joined scouts. One of the Webelos mottoes are: Do a good deed daily. <- That right there doesn't have any religion behind it.
So the summery is, I advise you to re-evaluate your definition of religion or duties to god.

Thanks for your thoughts, I know where you are coming from.

take a look at this post, it might explain what I think about religion.

Do you open the door to strangers?

Most people will say they will not. My parents, brothers, sister, and most of people I know will not open the door to strangers.
Just now (Really just now), I opened the door to a stranger who was big and had many tattoos all over his body.
The reason why he had knocked our house door was because he was short 13 bucks to pay his taxi cab that drove his cousins to his house.
Without a hesitation, I pulled out my wallet and handed him 20 bucks that were in my wallet. I felt no fear or doubtfulness.
He promised that he will be back with 20 bucks the next day around afternoon and tried to give me his wallet, id, house keys, and
everything He had in his possession.

After I had closed the doors and he had left, everyone started yelling and screaming about how I should not open to strangers at night.
Especially my parents were telling me what I had learned about safety when I was little and if I were stupid enough to open door.
I could not argue back. I could not say anything but agree with them.
They kept asking me why, why, why, why I would open the door.

why?

I wanted to yell out, "Did you all forget about the time when you needed help and no one would help you but Jesus? Do you remember the time when
Jesus took you into his arms while everybody hated you?".
Well.. I remember that times.
And Jesus has taught me something no other people would teach me.
He taught to reach to the unreached even if it takes my life.
He taught me to love the unloved even if it takes my life.
I serve Him not my parents nor my family.

Mom and Dad, I love you so much..
But His commands are more important than yours.

Edit: I want you guys to tell me what you guys think about this.

Blessings brother, you are Born again. The Lord is definitely first above all else.

Well, your dad is a piece of work. Definitively needs a bible up side his head to get a taste of .... reality?

My main church I have attended since I was 7 ( 24 now ) is also Presbyterian. Very loose with "rules" or "shall not do's". Sitting there listening to David is like listening to nails on a chalk board and pretty dry, so my mind tends to wander as I'm "listening". My family has a great relationship with David so I have poked fun at him and told him myself about his mono-tone voice and lack of enthusiasm during worship. So every other Sunday and every Wednesday I go to Shilo Temple which is an all African American church to celebrate and praise god! Bishop (the pastor) can suuuure rock the top of the building right off! Even during bible study!
