The only thing that makes less sense is the rationalizations attempted to be given for the things that make no sense in the bible.

Well, the bible explains it.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.

You can read more about these "Sons of God" who descended down to the earth to transgress with these human women, and how they bore giants, and the giants began to consume the human's goods, and when there was nothing left, the giants began to eat men..

You can read more in the Book of Enoch, or other parts of Genesis.

So knowing the Nephilim were angel/human babies, Were the angels that had "sex" with our women fallen angels? Or did God allow them to do it?
