I don't know much about D. L. Moody but I heard an interesting story, centered around him once.

To be short, He was walking down a street/road and someone called out with something similar to "There is a convert of yours over here destitute and sleeping in a ditch beside the road!"

Moody replied with something like, "He must be my convert because if he was Jesus', he wouldn't be in a ditch." and continued walking.

my first church. kids having civil war inside the church(mixed)(ghetto)
2nd: self imploded(mixed)
3rd: 1 year there was the same as 30min with my ppl
4th: 8 years there was the same as 4 hour with my ppl
5th: self imploded(mixed)

i told a leader in the 4th church. He calls me back the next day and told me my ppl didnt give him full acceptance at a session he went to.
i told him, tell me about it brother cause i've been watching this DvD for the last decade

Of course anyone can come to salvation in Christ with an honest heart. I for example, was not raused Christian, and was far from God, but now I serve Him.

I've had the same problems as the OP. Some people are just really insecure, and i completely agree with a lot of the other things people have said.
People should be open and love all.

Probably some of the best lines i've heard someone say was something along the lines that God see's all of our faults and temptations. He see's the nonbelievers and knows their struggles. But he doesn't give up on you, and he'll never give up on you. Because he knows what you're going through.

Idk, im not really that religious myself. I used to be, just really confused right now. :\
