what do you mean by "right with god?"
How does one become "right?" in god's eyes?
romans 3:10 There is no one righteous, not even one;
First we need to back up and refresh what this topic is about. Brandon started out with saying more of less he was unsure of his state of salvation. Cadizzle mentioned a Christian can backslide and loose their salvation which I totally agree with. One thing leads to another now we are at the point of you trying to prove the doctrine of men, "once saved always saved" while I show you can loose your salvation.
Getting to where we ar now, I see you are unsure of my question or do not understand it.
Acts 8:19-23
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter:
for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness,
and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
In Acts 8:5-20, we read of Philip's work in the city of Samaria. Among those who heard and obeyed the gospel was a certain magician named Simon.
We know Simon heard, believed, and obeyed the preaching of Philip by being baptized for the remission of his sins. At this point he was saved.However, the text indicates that he fell into transgression as he attempted to buy the apostles' gift to pass on the Holy Spirit. Peter rebuked him severely for such and told him to
pray for forgiveness that the iniquity of his heart be forgiven. Even a casual reading shows us that
Simon had gone from being a saved person to being a lost one. However, through repentance, prayer and confession, he could be restored to a right relationship with God.
There are many more passages I can quote that clearly shows one can loose their salvation.
