Aren't you an atheist? Not sure how your input is valid. Even if that wasn't the case, it is always better to take caution to be on good terms with God.

jesus had long hair

end of story

According to Renaissance painters, sure. He was also white. I think it's safe to say they painted an image of Jesus in such a way to appeal to the people of Western Europe. A middle eastern/Arabic Jesus would be off-putting to the masses, especially in the era that immediately followed the Crusades when Western Europe was at war with middle eastern people.

I have two dreadlocks in my hair, so of course they aren't a sin.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter what your hair is like. Sometimes people would shave their heads as a form of obedience and humility before God.

Also, for example, after Elijah was "taken up to heaven", he shaved his head when he got back, and people were amazed by what he was telling them he saw.

1 Corinthians 6:11-12 (King James Version)

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

1 Corinthians 10:23 (King James Version)

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

If anything in biblical times it would have been rather impossible to wash your hair due to lack of soap and since it was a common thing to grow hair long i would assume dreads are exactly what jesus sported.

If you can't see the simple logic in this i think your faith has blinded you.

Pretty harsh words at the end, it's just a subject that's open to discussion. Personally I think dreadlocks are fine. The reason I bring this up is because I've heard people claiming that letting your hair grow into dreadlocks is a sin. 1. because it is not clean 2. because it imitates rastafarians and others such as mystic hindhus
