hate to tell yah bro, but at church when everyone is going crazy on fire in prayer, its intense and awesome, the fact that its a group of Christians
having the Holy Spirit praying through doesnt strip the group of the spirit and grace of prayer, it brings more to prayer, and is able to open you up.
and EVERYONE can interpret -- its one of the gifts of the spirit, and we have all of them -- we may not know HOW to use them, but we have it.
this is a touchy subject, but i believe that the gift of tongues only existed in the apostlic age due to the fact that Christ's commandment to go and spread the gospel meant that his followers were to go to different lands
different lands involve different languages, they did not have the finesse of translations of languages like we do today so the holy spirit worked in a way that unbelievers could understand and hear and believe
this is to benefit the cause of christ which is to preach the gospel and disciple the nations
i also believe that the languages spoken were actual legit languages that people from different places could actually understand like, chinese, indian, russian, etc.
sitting around in the church with a bunch of believers speaking in languages that are not a known language to any people is contradictory to the cause of christ
that is also a big problem with churches today, not jus the fact that they speak in tongues but the fact that they sit in their churches for a sunday morning and don't get the gospel out like they should
the members of the church think it's the pastor's job to do that kind of work when in reality, the pastor is just an example, someone who can be called "blameless" to give advice to people
all believers are called to be priests of the Lord and therefore should proclaim his word
