Simply put, all the laws required for mankind were due to Adam losing the flawless connection we originally had with God.

These laws were for our benefit because we could no longer function as spiritually minded human beings as was intended.

Once Christ came, the law is no longer imposed upon us, because we are now excepted to live to a higher standard on our own;

Now that a perfect spiritual connection with God is available again through the accomplishments of Jesus the Christ;

And this spiritual life is what the new testament (Romans through Jude) explains to us :)

i'm atheist and i'm not trying to say god doesn't exist and all that

i'm just saying that because they disproved some of whats in the bible (like the run revolves around te earth) i can't believe anything else in it.

You're not an atheist if you say "i dont know if God exists or not". Atheism says "There is no such thing as a God". What you are is agnostic, not atheist.
