You are sacraficing something until the end of the lenten period (easter). For me however I am hoping that the monsters will be cut out for the rest of my life.
By monsters I meant energy drinks in general. I was drinking about 3 a day. And figured it had to stop. So I figured, give them up for lent this way at least I have a reason to refuse them, and if I do drink one, its considered a sin. (at least in my eyes)
Monsters and video games are both things in which they did mean a lot to me. The monsters I am hoping after lent I will be able to stop drinking forever.
But my main questino was in terms of the "Is sunday a day that I am allowed to play video games?"
Edit:
Mezandria, Inoticed you said "A break from fasting". Does this mean fasting as in non eating for the period of time, or fasting from what you gave up. I always had this question but was unsure.
@ bolded: It is a little bit of both. When you fast, it is abstaining from eating food and participating in festivals or other merry-making so to speak. This is therapeutic for your body as well, removing the toxins from your system and helping to clear your mind. It is not recommended for more than three days though without medical supervision, so in my opinion if you are going to abstain from food for lent, do it for no more than three days at a time and make sure to drink plenty of water. Or what you could do is a modified version of fasting, where you eat only raw vegetables & fruits and drink water. Though the fasting from food may be more symbolic, the meaning to the gesture is given by your actions.

I guess if you want to talk technicalities, you could play video games on Sunday, but is it really necessary to? How strong are you in your convictions if you decide to take a convenient break from lent for the sake of being able to play a few hours of video games?
