The Gospel of John.

The more I understand Koine and the culture of the area at the time it was written, the more it shines as an amazing meditative reflection of God's unconditional love towards both every individual person and the whole of mankind.

Also me too The Gospel of John.

This sub is a great idea! :)

I just hope that the people with a child-like mind won't come here and spam this section full of "666" topics, etc.

My personal favorite is Ecclesiastes.

I like it how the book gives us a nihilist way of thinking the bible. Although imho the book is written with lots of sarcasm, but I don't mean that it's a bad thing.

I've read the book thousend times over :)

How about you? What's your favorite book?

I actually disagree with the bolded part. I think it was written pretty straightforward.

You gotta think that it was written by Solomon (the wisest man ever to live) near the end of his life, as he was looking back and seeing the whole picture. I think he was realizing that really, in comparison to his relationship with God, everything else started to pale in comparison (hence why he says pretty much everything is meaningless). He also saw how people focus on things that are so unimportant compared to things like caring for other people, the poor, etc. And of course he saw the mistakes that he made along the way.

/edit: as far as my favorite book in the Bible, that's a pretty tough one. I really enjoy the gospels, especially John. I like Romans a lot, and Colossians is quite good. So is Ephesians lol. And the Old Testament stories are just crazy :D

Overall I would have to say Romans because of its clear message on the guarantee of salvation .

Have say the same.

Tho I must admit I haven't read the whole Bible yet. Almost there though.

Personally, I find the book of the Revelation of John to be very interesting. I used to read it over and over when I was younger. :)

Job is my personal favorite, although I like Song of Solomon. I can never understand when my pickup lines don't work though "Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Mount Gilead." :D
