Prayer is how you ask for forgiveness and I don't think you can truly repent through someone else. For other things, I'd say go right a head and have someone pray for you. But your motive for having someone else pray for you could also be a sin...like laziness and in that case you'll need to pray and repent anyway so you might as well have done it yourself to start with.
