If you see an upside down cross, don't
automatically think it's some Anti-Christ or Satanic
symbol, which it is mistaken for in this generation,
which only had a single goal within the church.
And that was was mainly used to persuade others the
silly nonsense that the Catholic church was involved
with satanic worship.

Look at its origin. An upside down cross, also known
as the Cross of St. Peter, is a representation of
humbleness and respect towards Jesus.

So keep that in mind next time you see
an upturned or downturned crucifix.

Discuss?

there are many symbols that are said to be " satanic " but are rather mistranslated throughout the years....

The reason that people usually supsect it as a satanic thing is because inverted sigils are a part of Satanism.

In fact sigils are found everywhere, from logos to secret rituals. I used to be into the occult years ago before I was saved, and I have a general knowledge of how Sigils work, etc... If you have any questions, let me know.

If its in a circle, it might have a more sinister meaning, but you're right, it does represent St. Peter's crucifixion.

So, do circles always mean a more sinister meaning?

I dispise people that wear normal crosses just as much!

even a 'right' cross is a stupid simbol, I think Jesus should be remembered by his teachings, not by his sufferings on the cross. (so the church tells us that his death on the cross is the most important - cause he saved us from our sins etc - thats just the usual church bullshit I guess.)

and there is no such thing as holy cross, nor unholy cross, it's just metal or wood anyway.

I disagree, I only think people that wear the cross like Lil Wayne/etc, are being dishonoring to God, because he is not representing God when he wears that cross and cusses 2000 words per song/etc, but I think people should beable to wear crosses/etc regardless

I always found it perfectly fine to wear crosses and such
in my apparel, however.. the schools I went to didn't take Jesus
out of it. We had the right to wear anything we saw fit for our
beliefs on our person. We occasionally received pocket-sized bibles
at the end of a semester. We even had religion-based classes
in high school. :) I just wish people were more open-minded to other
representations of God and Jesus.

Well college is, by far, a lot different than k-12.
Friends of mine go to school in order to become Youth
Pastors/Ministers and such. :P

Peter opted to be crucified upside down as a sign of being unworthy of suffering the same death as the savior. While as far as biblical teaching, and theologically i disagree with a Catholicism, I too don't really see how they have been associated with Satanism.

The cross has been made into some monetary scheme. It has been publicized along with WWJD and things like that. Christ doesn't stand for monetary gain. Christ bled, and died on the cross, by our hands to be a median between us, and our creator. The bible says that we will be able to tell our brothers and sisters by the fruit of the spirit. NOT by whether we wear a cross, or pray a certain prayer. Jesus isn't a money plan, or a political figure. He is the one who came to save, and die by the hands he came to save.

As for what Christ should be remembered by.. If we simply remember Jesus by his teachings, by all standards, he would have been just another good guy, and prophet. Nothing profound. Nothing out of the ordinary. The gravity of the death of Jesus, is that in death, life is given. By his death, and his death alone, we are offered redemption. Paul says in Romans 4:25 "He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God." Jesus' entire life was profound. But the death of Jesus, was the fulfillment of God's plan of grace.
