So ive been going to church for my whole life. I am 100% certain I am saved and going to heaven, however...
I'm about to go off to college and have recently started a lot of weed and drinking.
I would appreciate some advice from people who have been there, as well as Prayers.

Thanks.

College is a rite of passage. You should definitely limit yourself somewhat and not go overboard with it, but by all means... enjoy yourself. Its a phase that every collegian goes through. These are suppose to be the best years of your life. Have fun and don't feel guilty about every little thing you do, but just always be conscious of your actions.

College was extremely boring for me.
All I did was learn @#$% and get fat off burgers and fried chicken.

This.. I feel you bro, I'm in college and the same thing happened/is happening to me.
For the first time in my life, I stopped going to church while in school.. and I really regret it..
But I know for sure that I will go back to God, since he has always been and will be the center of my life.
Just enjoy yourself.. but always know that God is there for you no matter what.
Try to make good friends and at least, really attempt to go to church. :]

Good luck, God bless!

However, in this viewpoint Im seeing above of "Well I'm just gunna cut loose a little bit and and give God my time later" can be looked at as putting him on the backburner.
He has called us to be his ambassadors and to be reflections of how a follower of Christ carries themselves at all times.

Christ has given us sober minds and asks us to keep that. Don't take his words and warnings for granted. Your body is a temple that Christ has given you, honor him with it. I understand that its a typical phase for somebody to go through at your age, but if you were to ask your question directly to Gods face, what do you think he'd say to you? Pray on it.

On another hand, coming from me and like somebody above me said, watch how much you're doing it, not necessarily how often, but volume. Drunkenness is a sin. But its perfectly okay to drink. Know your limits and stay within them. As far as weed goes, if you're to do it, again, know your limits. Smoke a j with somebody or have a hit or three off a pipe, but keep your wits about you. If you smoke it enough to lose quite a bit of a legitimate amount of function both cognitively and physically, Id say you might've overdone it. But even in my saying all that, Id still advise resisting weed. It not only can lead to dishonoring God, but to anxiety and depression issues as well in the long run.

However, Christ states to us through the Bible to obey the laws of the land. Some classic examples being Romans 13:1-7 and Matthew 22:15-22. A good question to ask yourself is "do I feel convicted?" Just by having posted here and possibly doubting your actions, it sounds like you may have. Convictions can be a nudge at the heart from God saying "Come back to me".

Edit: And my advice is coming from the experience of having been an avid partier and huge pothead from the age of 14-21. I as well grew up a Christian and had a "put God on the backburner" falling out phase for many stressful reasons (family issues and pastor selling the church I grew up in and called its congregation family as well). I started searching for solid ground with Christ again at the age of 20, and pulled out really well at 21. Only 23 now, but its been a smooth 2 years and Im actively involved in ministry and leadership.

Not tryin' to ramble about myself, but you asked to hear from somebody with like experiences, so there's my backing.

Neither God nor Jesus directly denounced Alcohol or Marijuanna. That is a church run mentality.

It is expressed, however, that destroying your body is frowned upon. Reckless drinking and all day smoke sessions will probably sit wrong with your God.

As long as you are reasonable with both, you will be fine. IMHO.

Just remember that we are very close to the end of the age, and when he comes back, what do you want to be doing?

God said don't abuse our bodies, while comsuming a little acohol every once in a while doesn't harm you, every time you take a puff of weed it damages you, so its a sin.
But honestly, if you sin because you say eh God will forgive me then do you really think your a christian?
