Where is all of the proof? i recently got a bible for my birth day and its so water downed it just seems like a bed time story. anyways, im having a hard time believing some of the miracles performed by some people.
You were/are not a Christian. How can you consider yourself a Christian without any knowledge of the faith? The first time you read a Bible and now you are questioning your faith? That doesn't make any sense. Simply believe that there is a God does not make you a Christian. If you don't believe the eye witness testimony recorded in the Bible of Jesus' miracles, then I don't think you believe in Jesus to begin with.
I'm not trying to discourage you or sound mean, but that's my view on things. You say the Bible seems watered down, how? Give an example.
There is more proof of Jesus, his claims, and the miracles he performed, than any other figure in history. Biblical and non-Biblical alike. If Jesus didn't perform the miracles, why did he have merit among the Jews who were told not to believe in Him? If he didn't perform miracles why did the Roman's want him killed? If he didn't claim to be the Son of God then why would any of it matter?
It's quite clear, to me, that Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, performed miracles that backed up this claim, and gained a huge following because of it. This leads to a few questions for the skeptic, if Jesus were not the Son of God then why did he claim to be? Was he a liar and if so why did he die for a lie and not confess? Was he insane and if so why did he pose such a threat to the Jewish authority figures and Rome as a whole? If Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and couldn't perform miracles, how did he gain such a following? Did he trick everyone and if he did then that would imply that he is a liar, which brings the above questions.
