Honestly, you sound like you might be suffering from clinical depression (a sense of hopelessness, lack of desire/ability to do anything, constant feelings of loss, probably have extreme difficulty waking up and staying awake). Read this, and if it sounds like you, then you should probably talk to your parents about it or call your doctor to set up an appointment and talk to him and see what he thinks.

I was diagnosed with bipolar and adhd, but since coming to know the Lord i dont have the anger, axiety, or depression i used to
imo the bible is tha ultimate anti-depression medication and Jesus is truly the Great Physician.
meds, couseling, and all that can be an earthy form of relief, but it doesnt help much or for that long.
Ive been put on over 20 diff meds and maybe 2 of them helped and they didnt help much, some made things worse. Ive been through counseling, I even had to be commited to fairfax
but since coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ, seeking Him and trusting in Him has changed my life completely
no more drugs illegal or prescription, no daily anger or depression, just the perfect peace from trusting in God

-Isaiah 26:3-4-
"The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,
Because he trusts in You.
"Trust in the LORD forever,
For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.

That's all well and good for you, but religious people can get sick too (I just heard someone say that Satan was causing a doctor to lie to her when she was told that her grandmother had cancer throughout her body, because she believed Christians couldn't get sick and that Jesus heals all -- clearly a ridiculous notion). Getting a doctor's advice for something like this is a GOOD idea, and ignoring medical opinions is obviously foolish.

Christianity is not a religion. Mark Driscoll can explain that for you.

All humans were placed on this earth for one purpose and that is to live for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Im not saying that Christians dont get sick
But when it applys to depression and anxiety i think that Jesus is enough
Im not taking anything away from Doctors but i think psychaitrists are full of it

Your advice is not only false, it is also dangerous.

Please stop.

im just saying you have to be carful with alot of those drugs that they precribe for those kind of symptoms cause they can make things worse
Some mental conditions need to be medicated, like tourettes or skitsofrenia, but conditions like anxiety or depression can benefit more from counseling
Because it is usually a state of mind they are suffering from, not necessarily a chemical imbalance and if you treat them for a chemical imbalance that isnt there it can do more harm than good
Im only talking about a few conditions (anxiety, depression, ADD) because everyone shows those syptoms now and then. and they usually stem from personal circumstances rather than brain chemistry
Im not telling anyone to not go to the doctors, so i really dont see the "danger" in my adivce

I definitely agree with this.

mugshot25, in the end you're not going to get perfect advice here or on any online forum. The best advice anyone here can give you, and the only sensible course of action that you should take, is that you should be 100% honest with your doctor (there is doctor-patient confidentiality, so your doctor can't tell anyone what you tell them) and they'll tell you what their years of studying medicine and taking care of patients has taught them.

You should also know that you're not alone in this. A lot of people experience depression at some point in their lives, so the fact that you might be going through it now doesn't make you weird or broken in any way. Posting here and asking for help is a good first step, but you need to talk to someone that's actually able to help you.

You can try the spiritual route, but it seems like you've already tried that with no results. Go see a doctor.

Yeah, that's sort of telling people not to go to a mental health professional. Do you want the thousands of well documented cases where depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain?

Everything you're saying is borne of ignorance.

Every time you say that depression isn't a real disease, you're spitting in the faces of everyone with actual depression. Because the implication is that there's something wrong with them, not that they have a disease. People with depression have an enormous social stigma because people just want them to cheer up. They can't. Go tell a schizophrenic to stop hallucinating and see how well it works. What you're doing here is actively hurting people with depression, because either they'll believe it or somebody they know will, and people won't acknowledge that they're sick.
