Yes and you should Never Talk about it ever. Read rules.

Oif you want to be 100% sure: put the item on the trading Site for an alch of something. So somebody uses the real trading Text.

What happens in jsp stays in jsp. When you signed up in 2017 did you read the tos and fine print? If you mention d2jsp outside of d2jsp, you open yourself up to being legally made into a human centipede

Yes, you should be putting an item in the trade window, and in particular a RARE item. One of the ways that some of the loot filters are updated (probably the most significant way) is via the PoE trade APIs. PoE collects a ton of data about trades, pricing, and so on. This data one of the pillars of what PoE uses to determine whether a trade may be suspicious. If you're selling a unique item for 100x what it normally goes for to a stranger that's a big red flag.

Similarly you can also track the data for a number of magic items (flasks jump to mind in PoE 1) and a bunch of other things.

I've developed or contributed to a number of tools for PoE using these APIs and how they're used internally at GGG is pretty common knowledge in the (significantly small) PoE dev community. To be clear, I don't work for GGG, but I am a software engineer who just happens to like PoE quite a bit.

Edited to add: It is much harder to nail down the price of rare items which is why they're ideal to use for making trades over platforms like JSP.
