Can I use the same support gem in multiple skills?

For example I have 3 persistent skills.

Can I add the vitality support gem to each of them?

Vitality gives 1% health regen while skill is active, so essentially getting 3% life regen per tick?

No. Only 1 per character. It won't even let you if you try.
