Was some panic about it potentially being $60 yesterday. Threshold for getting a free key is $500 spent total or being friends with a developer. 30 seems pretty reasonable but I guess tamper expectations on how much content there is and how fucked up the servers are/game runs etc. It'll probably be a good game in 2-3 years; maybe even a really good game but that'll likely be league specific as always (so one year you get Ultimatum or Sanctum, next year you get Kalandra and Necropolis)

I'd guess next good POE 1 league is probably at least 3-4 leagues away as well (current league is fine); evidence that there's more than 3-8 people working actively on POE1 right now is minimal.

im expecting them to pot most of resources into poe2 and then slowly move the rest of resources from poe1 to poe2 in order to softly force people to migrate to poe2 basically do what (((bankers))) did, be like "but guys, try our system, it offers so many benefits" until you get around 90% people, and then to the remaining 10% be like "you have to use my system now, go fuck yourself lol"

I'd guess depending on how many bad POE 1 leagues they have in a row they'll eventually just stop making them but won't turn off the game for a few years after that (so it'll cycle old leagues or something). It's also possible POE 2 has a very harsh reception for a long enough time for them to actually split focus between the two and deliver the original promise retroactively. If they do something that's completely dickish it's probably tencent causing that not ggg themselves; but I don't think they want to burn good-will presently.
