what am i doing wrong... i have the link : https://imgur.com/a/aXcd0LQ and then when i highlight it and hit the sun image(6th icon) is shows up like the example text but still wont show up as an image in my post

ur using the wrong link given to you on the website.

if u wana do it quickly on this website, open the image you created (the image of your item) , then right click on it and copy image.

come on d2jsp and in ur thread, ctrl + v to copy it, itll upload it automatically
