The difficulty is objectively NOT in the "right spot" for ARPGs. It's definitely the most difficult ARPG ever made.
It's different. It's ok that you like it and that many people like it, but it doesn't make you a cool gamerkid69420 for liking it. Different tastes.
It might be in the right spot for the devs and their intentions, but it's extremely different from most ARPGs and it's to be expected that many people will be checked out soon because it doesn't scratch the same itch. I'm sure it's still going to be a successful game and that some aspects will be improved throughout early access.
Personally, I find the boss fights really cool. It's the farming through zones that I am just not clicking with in PoE2. It's clunky as fuck, I have to do so many manipulations on monk to get a semblance of "feel good" moments. Yet I'm shitting on bosses so hard I barely engage with the mechanics. It feels all over the place, the cast times on skills, the extreme slow when casting while moving, the dodge roll recovery time... Those all feel pretty bad for me. I also CANNOT fucking stand how much running (SLOWLY) there is in zones. Especially if you intend to clear a few objectives, you end up backtracking and staying in zones forever.
I trust GGG and their designers, but I'm definitely not hooked on PoE2 yet and that's also fine. I've got a combined maybe 35000 hours of ARPG time across all ARPGs and so far PoE2 doesnt scratch the ARPG itch the same way the others do (yet).

This is like Diablo 2 levels of loot, it's good.
I'm gonna have to agree with you on this tho. I think they nailed the loot so far. Upgrades feel meaningful. Rare items are back in business and I love it.
