It's a multiplayer game, so there's an inherent competitive and comparative aspect to it.

not sure if that was a troll post, so if yes im sorry :cry: but poe...not competitive :wacko: ? literally all poe players are doing is compete who will have the best gear, who will have the most dps, who will do some event faster, not to mention that the chat literally informs you when someone does something first, the only reason for which is incentivizing competition (as king kata said). poe is more competitive than most games i can think of actually :unsure:

edit: although even a non-competitive (if that even exists), single player game can be pay to win. so competitiveness doesnt even have to play much of a part in it! a game has a goal, achieving that goal is considered winning and paying to achieve it faster and/or easier is paying to win :blush:

I don't view it as a competitive game. Literally nobody outside 10 people give a shit about whos fastest in an arpg especially when those people play the game for a job thus giving them an advantage over others that have a real job. The only real competitiveness is in games like LoL/Dota/CSGO/SC2.

Also, you are paying to play a beta, nothing you get will be transferred over. If they did a $30 purchase to play 3 days earlier for when the game releases then that would be cancer.

your experience transfers over! basically you are getting the training the non payers arent and you can apply that knowledge later, same as with any practice, making you win easier :unsure: you consider that fun the same way kittens consider playing fun, its fun for them because many mammals evolved to consider life practice "fun", especially as children when they learn most easily :blush: thats why you will see activities such as chasing (for catching prey), playfighting (for fighting), hide and seek (for sneaking up to prey) etc

and the fact that there are more competitive games doesnt mean poe isnt competitive. competition is the nature of games (example: everyone wants to play the new league the first moment possible; reason for this is to reach the goal as fast as possible, not to play as much as you can, proving this is easy because almost everyone quits after a week). even if you are competing against yourself (trying to reach the goal you wanted), first of all you really arent, and second, you can still pay to reach that goal faster or to stop something interfering with it (example: getting stash tabs). game = competition
