After selling some keys there were some common issues and things that aren't made clear.

#1 There is only one type of early access key and it must be redeemed at https://www.pathofexile.com/shop/redeem-key while you are logged in to the website.

#2 If playing on console, you must link your console account to your email login on the website otherwise you will get an error saying the key is not accessible to your account.

#3 After redeeming an early access key your Steam/Epic keys will be available at https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/early-access when they are made available next week. These keys only unlock the Steam/Epic clients, they do NOT provide early access. You will log into those clients using your pathofexile.com account so if you give away/sell your Steam or Epic client key the person you give them to will not be able to log in to Early Access. Beware of scams next week. If someone is selling you a Steam or Epic key you will not be able to log in on Friday, you will only be able to download the client.

This sounds like a major issue.

So let's say I buy a supporter pack and get early access, then enter the key in steam to get the game in my library, the key itself that is listed through the PoE website is still "the key" to playing early access? If that is sold or given away it is still my key and cannot actually be used by anyone else?

This green text hasn't been there before. Is this some extra checkmark related to selling keys perhaps?

Correct, the keys people are buying/selling today gives your account permission for early access and are extras from buying higher tier supporter packs. Once you get early access (the green text in your second post) you know you are good to go for Dec 6th. You then have 3 options. You can download the standalone client and login with your email/password or you can redeem the Steam or Epic key to download the client on those launchers. With both Steam and Epic you have to link back to your pathofexile.com account to authenticate and login on Dec 6th.

So for example, when the Steam and Epic keys are added to your account over the next week and you give your Steam key to your friend, your friend will be able to download the client on Steam. However, once he links his pathofexile.com account to Steam he will still need to buy early access via a supporter pack or 3rd party like d2jsp to actually login into the client he downloaded with your Steam key.

That means anyone that tries selling specifically a Steam or Epic key in the future isn't actually selling you early access privileges. You will only be able to download the game and look at the login screen.

this was common knowledge for me as i redeemed such a key already. still i got scammed here by a sh**ty user who never sent the keys we agreed upon and i payed for

A STEAM KEY DOES NOT GIVE EARLY ACCESS

thanks for that, im looking for a key myself and was not aware of this.
So if i buy the key from a user then use it on poe website and get the "green" text - im all good yes?
so i need to ask for a key from a supporter pack then , not steam/epic yes?
