The drop down menu is spawning to the far left rather than directly below the corresponding menu tab.

I had to specify the uls and such bc there is an unordered list that I have below it that would otherwise be affected.

Any help figuring out what I'm missing here would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, I literally have no idea what I am doing. I have just been teaching myself through google over the past week and a half. So be gentle ;)

Thanks

I appreciate the efforts but those aren't lined up properly and i need the bullets removed.

it should look like this

https://jsfiddle.net/e6aatf2k/2/

the code is different in that one but the appearance is how it should be only the new one will include the second level drop down.

The menu bar should be set up like this

Home ---- News ---- Public Information ---- Contact ----- About
------------------------[drop down]-----------------------------|drop down]
------------------------|Contracts-------------------------------|Overview
------------------------|Decisions-------------------------------|Privacy Policy
------------------------------------[drop down lvl2]
------------------------------------|Board Decisions
------------------------------------|More Decisions

Not sure if that makes it clear.

Also, can you please specify what changes you made, bc obviously you are certainly on the right track!

Okay using your changes and having made some edits, I am VERY close!

I just need this second level drop down to work properly!

I don't know if you were still working on this, but I redid the menu, got rid of a lot of the classes. You can position the submenu2 where-ever you want by changing top and left in .submenu li:hover > ul{}. Code is in https://jsfiddle.net/nx6wpn94/14/

quickly tossed this together. it has a parent > child > child-of-child relationship using ul li > ul li > ul li.

edit: for clarity:
link #2 > child #2 > child-of-child.
link #4 > child
