It's so cool. To get it you need windows 10 and have to enable developer preview builds, but it's worth taking the time to set it up. It works just like you had an ubuntu VM running on your machine.

I haven't used it yet, but I think the difference is that you can install packages using "apt-get install <package>" since it's actually ubuntu running on top of windows.

I'm not going to bother with the insider builds though since windows 10 is buggy enough as it is -- I'll just wait for the official update.

So... basically rather than use cygwins package manager you use apt.

So it's basically cygwin.
