What are some famous java applets/servlets? Is runescape a applet/servlet in java?

yahoo games comes to mind. i used to play chess there 10 years ago.

When ever I see the word Java applet I always recall all the signed Java drive by down loaders in which web exploit kits used to use to trick a user into downloading malware.

So I guess those were pretty famous for a while, and probably still are.
