I am looking to make a mobile app for both android and iOS. What is the best way to develop and app for both platforms?

I have never created a mobile app before, but I pick things up pretty quickly.

I was just wondering do people code these things in both languages or is there a way to code it once and make it compatible with both platforms?

Any suggestions to coding my first app?

I have 2 app idea. First is a utility app. Second app is for a game.

I am more focused on the utility app first because I think it will be easier and give me some experience before I jump into a game.

well their APIs etc are quite different, so if you're not using a program to build most of the app it'll be entirely different for both

I'd just dive right into android, as it's free and everything's open source

apple requires license, a mac.. and their w/e else nazi shit to build apps for their phones

there is a compiler vmxms or something like that that converts java bytecode into objective c so it can be run off both
i think it's pretty limited though

god I have a really good idea, but if I do it myself it will probably take years to develop since I have no experience with mobile apps.
