So I have a gaming computer someone built for me in like 2008 or 2009. I haven't booted it in approximatively 6 years.
I wanna give it to one of my friend for Christmas. I know it can run WoW and such games pretty easily on high resolutions.

I was wondering if there is something I should do? I mean, it's not been booted in 6 years so..
Is it dangerous to open it and start using it right away?

Lemme know, thanks!

I'd dust it out first. There's a chance a shitload of dust has piled up in the case.

Might not be able to run same resolutions in games you were able to do 6 years back.

Also I'd check the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU in addition to air blowing.

Probably be a good idea to write a new OS for it
