Do you use code::blocks? Or do you have a better suggestion?

if you're on windows, visual studio is pretty good.

you just need syntax highlighting / auto complete-intellisense / debugger. so pick your favourite ide that supports that

Have you tried code::blocks?

i dont use c/c++. i've used visual studio for c#/vb.net and i know it supports c++. downside is it's a huge memory hog.

Visual studio works well on windows yeah.
If you are a student, I suggest to get the Resharper for VS as well .. it's pretty awesome and helpful and will improve your code alot after my experience

on Linux i suggest Sublime, qtcreator or vim.
there is also some "kinda visual studio" for linux iirc, just can't tell you the name :blush:

Visual studio is best compiler and if your student you can get professional free threw dreamspark just need .edu email..


dreamspark.com

but make sure you donwload it for Desk top version not mobile etc
