aparently jsp locks topics where there hasn't been posts in the last 3 months LOL

read-only mode engaged

anyways, how is everyone

I started working on a giant rewrite project at work

Converting all our client side silverlight to html5/js

been rough getting back into JS after awhile without touching it. (no jquery either, director doesn't like)

In other news, we hired a new CTO who is seriously putting us unto a path to convert all our VB server side code to C#.....can't wait for that!

step 3?

it's weird. 5 years ago i did java and .net and never touched javascript, but now i work almost exclusively with javascript. i kinda dislike the language, but i'm getting comfortable with it. i've been dabbling in some objective c the past month and as much as i dislike it, i'm starting to get used to it as well.

I think the idea is to make onboarding easier for fresh-out-of-college devs who are more used to a c-like syntax for all the other stuff. A lot of the work done on our primary application is bug fixes and additions to existing files, rather than creating new files.
