you want different tabs to play on different devices? eg youtube tab play on speakers and hulu tab play on headphones or something? afaik you choose which device it plays on by application, not by tab. so set up everything you want to headphones to use chrome, then everything to use speakers to use firefox or something like that. that's a generic non-programming question. so first you should ask how to do that manually here -> http://forums.d2jsp.org/forum.php?f=199 then after they tell you how to do it manually, come back here and we'll see if it can be automated. additionally, you can look for other people who already wrote apps to do that.

/e if you want to use two hardware devices at the same time (eg: speakers + headphones), i think you'll need a separate sound card, but hardware isnt my field of expertise.

Okay first of all this is for a friend and im tryin to help her out.

What she wants is she's starting out streaming and she wants to be able to watch others while streaming since she gets no viewers. She doesnt want this audio to be streamed though, using OBS. So basically she wants all sound to go two places, game audio, music, follower alerts and the web browser noise to headphones so she can hear it, and all those except the browser noise to go to probably a virtual playback device that can be used to stream through OBS. There are programs that will do this for all sorts of audio except browser audio and game audio, because their output devices cannot be changed or so I've been told everywhere I've asked.

There is a way to change other programs and such to different audio outputs, but games and browsers usually dont have these capabilities.
That's why I was asking here if it would be possible to make such an app.

Lol so basically you have the hots for your friend, she has a problem, and you told her you could fix it for her in an attempt to woo her...without actually knowing anything about the problem. Sounds about right lol.

Alright, bro. I will help you white knight this lass for you.

What you are interested in is Virtual Audio Cable. Enjoy. And get a few good pumps in there for me as well.

Seems like you have no clue yourself. VAC won't do everything I've asked, like I said you need to be able to change where browser audio goes for it to be controlled like programs like VAC.

Well then, once you spend a couple weeks getting nowhere, and then you suddenly find the answer, and realize I was right, I will be here. You can do what you want with VAC, good sir knight.

Then why has everyone else told me that this is impossible? I've looked up tutorials on how to use VAC for these purposes but havent found anything that explains it well.

Well, I would tell you, but then I would expect to be the one that gets to fuck your friend, and not you.
