I've got a .dll I want to download, but I don't know if I trust the source! How should I go about testing this thing for malware etc?
I mean, I could download it then run a scan, but I imagine there's a way to scan it as it's downloading, or download it into some kinda quarantine.
Idk, but it seems like the rules here don't allow links to .exe
This is a .dll, is that ok to link?

typically if it's the kind of thing you even think might contain a virus, don't download it.

you could always download into a virtual machine (VMWare or VirtualBox or some other) and check it inside so it won't affect your host system.

You could just download it then upload it to something like virus total to scan there.
