Hey guys, I have an undergraduate computer science research project I need to start next semester but I'm really unsure of what to do.

I have a choice of pretty much anything, which is the problem, too much to think about.

Would you guys have any suggestions of what might be fun to do and learn about for a undergraduate project? (On the easier side, not super super advanced)

Thanks! :)

Edit: I'm a Networking and System Admin degree if that matters

I love the NFL, maybe I could do something with that?

research project as in do something that's never been done before then publish a paper on it? or just write code for something that takes more than X hours?

if the latter, make some fantasy football thing. not sure how that thing works, so i'll leave it to you.

The latter, 4-6 hours per week on something, doesn't have to be exactly coding

Ah yeah, that'd be kinda cool. I'm not sure how I'd do that, since it will be in the spring and football doesn't really happen in the spring haha.
Maybe something with coaching? (I'd like to coach some day but how could I integrate that with computer science)

Sorry, I've been so vague on this, hard to explain since I don't really know the guidelines that I REALLY need to set.
More or less just a 20 minute presentation.
Some kids did an alorgithm of prediction of NFL games, another did high level look at USB deletion habits.

Here are some stuff I can do the project over..
high performance computing,
high performance networks,
distributed environments,
parallel computing,
system security,
network security,
data encryption and integrity, and
grid computing.

Electronic voting is always a good one. As a network/ sys admin you can focus on security protocols, since those tend to be hot button topics on the subject.

Something related to relative live data of NFL players and then using that data create trade-able commodities like a stock market (I know it's been done - but perhaps you could add something or this might spark new thinking)
