I am a student in OU in the third year of the program. I came across some (different) e-learning school that gives certificates to speciliasied categories.
There is a total of 15 different certificates avaialable.

If you were fresh in the area, which ones would you choose to start with and specialise in?

1) Web design
2) Computer systems security
3) Basic skills in Windows 7 and office 2010 (really?)
4) Biomedicine databases
5) Joomla
6) Database administration
7) Software development
8) Smart energy grid
9) CMS Drupal
10) Network engineer
11) Managment information system
12) Hospital computer systems
13) Medical Computing
14) c++
15) Internet related studies

if a translation in english is funny you can ask, what each category is supposed to include in terms of what we are supposed to be taught.

Since I don't have the time and the funds to choose more than 1 or 2, which one should I specialise in?

Depends on your preference.

For me, I would choose, 2, 6, 7, & 10.

Definitely depends on a lot of factors, but personally I would choose 2, 7, 10, 14.

Web design is a really easy field to break into if you want a parttime gig to get you through school.

Still very vague. what do you want to do when you graduate?

I really don't know yet. The goal is to be able to find a job that pays relatively well. The goal is to look at adverts and be able to say: "I can do this, I know how to" and be confident about it.

Oh, he wants to go into the "Computers" field when he graduates.
